Qualitative interviews are effective for understanding users, but visual data (e.g., photos) can provide additional insight for making design recommendations. Our team conducted home visits that included taking photos of artifacts and devices used for illness management. This talk will relate benefits, challenges, and lessons learned that can be applied to a variety of IT uses and environments.
