The interaction of humans and machines has long been a fascinating topic capturing the attention of authors and film makers. Computer scientists have been working to make the robots often presented in books and movies a reality. This tech node introduces a number of commercially available and home grown robots to the audience. Healthcare, eldercare, the environment and many others areas where societal challenges exist can benefit from robot-based services. These services may combine other technologies such as LTE or 5G wireless, data analytics, computer vision, speech recognition, and sensor technology with the robot to complete the end-to-end service. Working on small teams, Verizon Tech Node attendees will get the opportunity to create a robot service concept to solve a societal challenge.
